My friend Ansel told me to leave him a voicemail because he wanted to hear my voice. So I left, quite possibly, the dumbest message ever. I hate the phone.
"Hi, uh...this is Erin...so...have a nice day. Byeee."
Stupid, I know. Now I have to leave one for my man Mike. I'm sure it will be equally as lame.
Why do I hate the phone so much? I think it may have something to do with awkward silences. Or just bad reception. Something - it gives me anxiety.

I found your blog by googling "why do I hate the phone so much?" Obviously I've got the same problem. I hate it, I dread it, I avoid it. I don't answer, I don't get calls made. Part of it is waiting, waiting, waiting for that stupid "if you'd like to leave a message, press 1. When you are finished you can either....etc." Another part is the out of sync talk, delay, talk over the other person. Having to kind of shout to be understood. Arrggg!!
